for this and they know they will be flying to dozens of cities across eastern seaboard where they will have to change a lot of flights so what they're doing it seems all getting on board and having rebooking waivers. delta among many that are relaxing the rules for these cities, friday, saturday you will be committed to make a one-time change your travel schedule without any extra fees. southwest is on board with that. they don't normally have this type of precompilation anyhow, they're the ones that are pretty good like that. everybody will be able to have their winter weather waivers and be on board with that because as you have been watching the fox business network, there is a storm on the way on the east coast. while you see some of these airlines to the upside, the transports are pulling back. yesterday we saw the fact they were doing better on the idea jet fuel had pulled back a little bit, that is one of their major pops. a mixed bag for this group in particular. dagen: we can skip the american airlines potential merger with u.s. airways, the biggest airline in the world. thank you, nicole. c

. the ravens made their ways through the streets of charmed city along with thousands of cheering fans though you can't hear them here. retiring linebacker ray lewis bringing up the rear as he caps off his 17-year nfl career. michaelor, congratulations. some of those fans thankful to ravens wideout jacoby jones when he returned that second half kickoff for a touchdown. he not only set a post season record. he also scored a bunch of folks $600,000 worth of free furniture. this baltimore furniture chain ran a promotion promises free stuff to customers if the ravens scored on a kickoff return to start the game or to start the second half. the store made good, i'm sure they had insurance. the owner bought that insurance to cover the cost just in case. he says he could not be happier for his customers. and i'm guessing all the free publicity. now to one of our favorite stories around here. the florida mansion squatter is apparently still sitting pretty. but the guy's neighbors now say they have had to hire guards for their own peace of mind. the 25-year-old brazilian man has been shacking up in th

these phones i should point out cleveland is city i love i lived there for eight years. these phones are intended for people who might be on disability. for people who can't afford to use the phone. the incentive is for these companies to sign up as many people as they can because it doesn't look, it was only last year they started to request who is getting the phone. why did they wait so long to look who is getting the phone? the program has been around for several years? >> just want to correct one thing. i know there is lot talk about the obama phone. the program was created under ronald reagan and expanded under bush and continues under the obama administration. why did it take so long is a good question. the fcc actually began looking into into 2010 because government doesn't work very quickly. adam: efficiently. >> took them a year and a half or two years to actually pass the reform order. so they passed it in the beginning of 2012. so took them a while to get to that point. people are saying that the reforms are working. they're starting to weed out a lot of these --. adam: it

flights in and out of boston. while the worst of the storm has yet to hit, many businesses and cities were busy making prarations today. erika ller repor. >> reporter: this monstrous storm is already being compared to the great blizzard of '78, when vast amounts of snow blanketed the ohio valley and the great lakes. that storm lasted 36 hours, leaving cars stranded. this storm could also be historic. weather forecasters predict it will leave up to three feet of snow in a wide swath stretching from new york to boston. preparations are well underway. airlines cancelled nearly 4,500 flights, leaving many travelers stranded. >> here at laguardia, as you can see, our port authority men and women are hard at work preparing for the storm. our fleet of snow removal vehicles and sand and agent spreaders are prepped and ready for action. >> reporter: amtrak has also canceled many trips in the northeast. the storm is expected to deliver a harsh blow to areas of the east coast still recovering from superstorm sandy. >> hurricane sandy cost the economy a $100 billion and the recovery efforts are still

forecasting for new york city on that one. it is on the rain-snow line the temperature may be a little bit too warm tomorrow to accumulate any of the snow during the daytime. tomorrow night that changes. it will cross over to snow. 7:00 p.m. all snow in boston. entire storm is snow in boston. that is why accumulation there will be so great. new york city, at least according to a lot of models we're looking at, probably not getting below freezing until later tomorrow night that is when the snow significantly accumulates. we're off by 30, 40 miles one direction or the another. there could be snow longer period. that would increase snowfall totals. take a look what at least for now we're forecasting for snowfall totals. a bull's-eye two to three feet west of boston. worcester hills, nash issue waa, new hampshire. a big swath of this getting a foot and a half of snow and 6 to 12 here in new york city. if it gets colder that number could be higher. i don't think it will happen but have a lot of uncertainty for at least in new york city for this time. not uncertain about boston but new york city sti

in castro valley. 56 in richmond, a little bit closer on the coast, cooler. dealey city, 70's and santa rosa. -- daly city this storm tracker pattern that we saw in the month of january it is going to stay dry. this is where we should be with rainfall totals for this time of year. but 6 in., in san francisco, we should see 5 in. however, we are well below for this time of year. the only areas in santa rosa, we desperately need the rainfall but we're not going to be getting it. this dry weather will continue for this week, the weekend and actually pretty warm. it is more like springtime. with even low 70's. >> catherine: an owl has a close call after getting hit by an s-u-v on the florida turnpike. the owl got stuck inside an s-u-v thursday night when a woman hit the bird as she was driving. the woman assumed the owl was road kill.but he survived and slipped through the s-u-v grill. afternoon that she noticed the owl caged in her s-u-v. she called florida fish and wildlife and an officer opened the hood and freed the bird. >> coming up speed hymps in the next edition of people behaving badly.

-shore. and in this position, this storm can really crank on. now in new york city, southern end of the storm. maybe three to six, maybe two to four but places like philadelphia, d.c., you will see snow. nothing in terms of shutting your cities down at all. but then we start heading on towards boston. not just a friday night event. boston is starting friday night and continues into saturday morning. into saturday night. and potentially if this low slows down, which we are thinking it actually might start to do late on saturday, we could see the snow continue saturday into sunday as well. so we have some perhaps historic snow fall totals on our map here but we could up the numbers if we get a long can duration of events. like i said, boston, you're the bull's eye. on the low end a foot of snow. on the high end, maybe two, maybe more feet of snow in the boston area. >> paul, we don't acknowledge as the world outside of the new york city area. that said, what are risks. i'm looking at national weather service. wlart risks that this gets up high, upgraded into the new york city area. is there a chance we get

, even new york city now with blizzard warnings, expecting 12 to 18 inches there. this is going to be a blockbuster storm. the big question is can we get everybody off the roads in time? that's what the desire is hout . the government says, look, i want all unnecessary vehicles off the road by noon tomorrow. so if we have a scene like you see behind me here, larry, where i-93 is backlogged at this time tomorrow night, we're going to have a disaster on our hands. that means some of these people are going to be spend being the night in their cars riding out the storm. 35 years ago the famous blizzard of '78 it was rush hour and people got trapped in their cars. if they are in their cars this time, the same thing will happen. history will repeat itself. we will also have hurricane force gusts along the coastline. some of these areas that were weakened by sandy will be very, very vulnerable certainly to the storm surge and the wave action that will happen with this huge nor'easter. we expect to measure this one with a yard stick, larry, two to three feet expected here in boston. >>

york city start with rain as we have two systems. one, a clipper across the midwest bringing detroit and michigan some snow but also the southern snow giving south some rain. they will come together an form a new storm, a nor'easter off-shore. as they do so we will plenty of wind, rain and snow and both storms mean business. let's put this in motion by friday evening. plenty of wind and rain and some wind gusts, 40, 50 miles per hour and some models that say these could be stronger than that. it is not just friday and friday night. new york city might start with rain. but crashing over hard to snow and the snow does not stop until sometime saturday for you. and this is slowing down into sunday. so saturday and sunday of additional snow. especially for new england. the bull's eye is here, so people are out of it. say philly, d.c. were you're out of this system in terms of heavy snow where the bull's eye is is the boston area. if we get behind the low side, that might be a foot of snow in boston. worst case scenario, perhaps three times that amount in the areas in and north and west of
